Project Name: Lasso 8 Connector For FCKEditor 2.0

Project Status: Active

Project Manager: Jason Huck

Demo Link:

Description: LASSO 8 CONNECTOR FOR FCKEDITOR 2.0 =================================== Author: Jason Huck/Core Five Creative Last Modified: Jun 14, 2005 Description ----------- This package contains FCKEditor 2.0 , a browser-based WYSIWYG HTML editor maintained by Frederico Knabben, and made available under the LGPL license . One thing that sets FCKEditor apart from competing tools is an API that makes it possible for different middleware packages to provide the server-side functions (namely, browsing for files on the server and handling uploads). In fact, it ships with connectors for ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, Perl, ColdFusion, and Java. This copy has been extended to allow Lasso to also provide that server-side functionality. Requirements ------------ FCKeditor is compatible with most internet browsers which include: IE 5.5+, Firefox 1.0+, Mozilla 1.3+ and Netscape 7+. The editor runs over Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. Note: Internet Explorer compatibility is available on Windows operating systems only. The Lasso Connector is written for Lasso Professional 8 and higher. Installation ------------ - Unzip the package and place it within your web root. - Edit the following file, changing the value of 'UserFilesPath' to the path of a directory within your web root where users may browse and upload files, and adding the username and password of a Lasso user with upload permissions, and full file permissions for the directory you specified: .../editor/filemanager/browser/default/connectors/lasso/config.lasso - Open this page in a browser and select Lasso from the pulldown menu to view the integration samples: .../_samples/default.html Basic Usage ----------- To create an instance of the editor in a Lasso page, insert the following code: [//lasso include('/fckeditor.lasso'); var('basepath') = ''; var('myeditor') = fck_editor( -instancename='FCKeditor1', -basepath=$basepath, -initialvalue='This is some sample text.' ); $myeditor->create; ] For more details on the configuration options available, review the sample files and consult the FCKEditor documentation . Upgrading --------- Should you wish to upgrade to a newer version of FCKEditor, the following is a list of the files that were added or changed from the stock FCKEditor download: Custom Type Definition (added): ../FCKEditor.lasso Connector Files (added): ../editor/filemanager/browser/default/connectors/lasso/* Integration Samples (added): ../_samples/lasso/* Configuration Defaults (edited to use Lasso connector for file/image browsers): ../fckconfig.js Unit Tester for Connectors (edited to include Lasso in list of connectors): ../editor/filemanager/browser/default/connectors/test.html Samples Browser (edited to include Lasso in list of samples): ../samples/sampleslist.html Known Issues ------------ FCKEditor will malfunction if Lasso is configured to process files with the .html extension. This is because the embedded javascripts in the core FCKEditor files are NOT surrounded with HTML comments. Some of these embedded scripts contain square brackets ([]), which Lasso will attempt to parse.
